Introduction to the project

Since 2015 world leaders adopted 17 aims named Sustainable Development Goals, that pursue to have a world without poverty, protecting the earth planet, and guarantee prosperity for everyone. One of the goals is: Achieve gender equality and empower all women and girls, so for this reason, this issue is something that concerns all of us. Even though there has been huge progress in the past few decades in this subject, in several countries around the world women are still fighting for basic rights. This dataset provides official information about 190 economies and their legislation concerning several dimensions like Mobility, Workplace, Pay, Marriage, Parenthood, Entrepreneurship, Assets, and Pension. What we wish to do is to find any patterns concerning stricter regulations towards women or even any evolution for the role of women in society. Perhaps visualizing this information can help shed some light on the situation and further the cause of the Women’s Rights Movement. Specifically, we find these questions are the most interesting and could have the most impact:

· How have laws evolved over the last fifty years toward greater gender equality?

· How much have the economies developed in gender legal equality according to their income group?

· How does each indicator influence a woman’s independence currently?

· How do the regulations influence women’s life?

· What is the relationship between the dimensions?
